Christos Michalakelis, PhD is a Professor at the Department of Informatics and Telematics of Harokopio University, with a field of expertise in the area of Technology Management.
He holds a degree from the Department of Mathematics, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1983), a master's degree, with honors, in Software Engineering, from the University of Liverpool, Department of Computer Science, U.K. (1995), a master's degree in Management and Economics of Telecommunications Networks, from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2008) and a PhD, with honors, in Techno-economic Analysis of Telecommunications Networks - Forecasting Penetration and Competition of Telecommunications Services, from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Department of Informatics and Telecommunications (2009).
He is a member of the Board of Directors, the Board of Lifelong Learning of Harokopio University and Director of the Postgraduate Program "Applied Informatics" (https://applied.dit.hua.gr/), a conversion program for redirecting studies in informatics for scientists who do not have a relevant cognitive background.
He has participated in many research and development projects and has published numerous scientific papers in international journals and conferences. He has worked at the Ministry of Education as head of the informatics department. He is President of the Board of Directors of “Study in Greece” (http://www.studyingreece.edu.gr/), having the role of the national body of Greece, for supporting the internationalization of Greek Universities, in which all Greek Universities participate, with the aim of establishing Greece as an international hub for education and research.
