Ubiquitous and Embedded Systems

Description: In this course the basic characteristics of Ubiquitous Systems and Embedded Systems are presented along with the properties that differentiate them from the general purpose Computer Systems and the basic principles governing their operation. Ubiquitous Systems. Applications and Requirements. Smart Devices and Services. Human-Computer interaction. Intelligent Ubiquitous Systems.Embedded System Design. Special and General Purpose Processors. Instruction execution, memory access and Operating System. Reconfigurable Hardware (FPGAs). Hardware description languages and Hardware/Software co-design methodologies. Parallel, serial and wireless communications.

Objectives: The Ubiquitous and Embedded Systems course will provide the necessary knowledge, both theoretical for the design of such architectures and practical on how to program such systems. Such systems are special purpose systems with certain characteristics that differentiate them from general-purpose computer systems, such as small size, low power consumption, low manufacturing cost and high performance for specific applications. Various architectures widely used are examined as well as specific examples of applications that the use of ubiquitous and embedded systems is required. For the case οf reprogrammable architectures, specific hardware description languages are presented that have an increased research and business interest.

Πλήρους Μερικής Φοίτησης

Το Π.Μ.Σ. προσφέρει τη δυνατότητα πλήρους φοίτησης και μερικής φοίτησης. Η χρονική διάρκεια για την απονομή του Μεταπτυχιακού Διπλώματος Ειδίκευσης ορίζεται σε τρία (3) ακαδημαϊκά εξάμηνα για το πλήρους φοίτησης, ενώ για το μερικής φοίτησης η χρονική διάρκεια διπλασιάζεται.

Μεταπτυχιακό Πρόγραμμα Σπουδών

Στο Π.Μ.Σ. γίνονται δεκτοί ως υποψήφιοι πτυχιούχοι Τμημάτων Πανεπιστημίων της ημεδαπής ή αναγνωρισμένων ομοταγών ιδρυμάτων της αλλοδαπής, καθώς και πτυχιούχοι Τμημάτων ΤΕΙ συναφούς γνωστικού αντικειμένου.
